It's got tons of Photoshopped stuff. There's a guy in a Fedora and overcoat all over the place. There's half a woman ordering coffee...Lee Harvey Oswald getting shot. A ton of stuff to look at.

Dick Miller

Miller was born in The Bronx, New York and attended the City College of New York as well as Columbia University.[1] He performed on Broadway and also worked at the Bellevue Hospital Mental Hygiene Clinic and the psychiatric department of Queens General Hospital.[1] In 1952, he moved to California seeking work as a writer.
His roles in movies include White Line Fever, The Terminator, Night of the Creeps, Small Soldiers, It Conquered the World, Bucket of Blood, The Little Shop of Horrors, the Tales from the Crypt movie Demon Knight, Amazon Women on the Moon, Chopping Mall, The Howling, Piranha and I Wanna Hold Your Hand. His best known role was in the movies Gremlins and Gremlins 2: The New Batch as Murray Futterman. He appeared in Pulp Fiction as Monster Joe, but his scene and a few others were deleted because of the length of the film.
His television credits include V: The Final Battle as Dan Pascal, and appearances on Star Trek: The Next Generation in the season 1 episode "The Big Goodbye" as the newspaper stand man in the holodeck, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine in the season 3 two-part episode "Past Tense" as Vin, Time of Your Life, and he voiced the gangster Chuckie Sol in the animated feature film Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Miller has also directed television shows, including "The Fix" a 1986 episode of the series Miami Vice.
In 2000, Miller was featured alongside former collaborators including Roger Corman, Sam Arkoff and Peter Bogdanovich in the documentary SCHLOCK! The Secret History of American Movies, a film about the rise and fall of American exploitation cinema. Wikipedia

Rondo Hatton

Hatton was born Rondo K. Hatton in Hagerstown, Maryland to Stewart Price and Emily Zarring Hatton, a pair of Missouri-born teachers. The Hatton family moved several times during Rondo's youth, to Hickory, North Carolina, and to Charles Town, West Virginia, and at last to Tampa, Florida, where family members owned a business. Following his father's death, Hatton, his mother, and his younger brother Stewart moved in with his maternal grandmother in Tampa. There he obtained work as a sportswriter for the local newspaper.[1] He worked as a journalist until after World War I when the symptoms of acromegaly developed.
Acromegaly distorted the shape of Hatton's head, face, and extremities in a gradual but consistent process. Hatton, who reportedly had been voted the handsomest boy in his class at Hillsborough High School, eventually became severely disfigured by the disease. Because the symptoms developed in adulthood (as is common with the disorder), the disfigurement was incorrectly attributed later by film studio publicity departments to his exposure to a German mustard gas attack during service in World War I. Whether Hatton actually served in combat is unclear, though it has been reported that he served on the Mexican border and in France.
Director Henry King noticed Hatton when he was working as a reporter with The Tampa Tribune covering the filming of Hell Harbor (1930) and hired him for a small role. After some hesitation, Hatton moved to Hollywood in 1936 to pursue a career playing similar, often uncredited, bit roles. His most notable of these were as a contestant in the "ugly man competition" (which he loses to a heavily made up Charles Laughton) in the RKO production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and as Gabe Hart, a member of the lynch mob in the 1943 film of The Ox-Bow Incident.
Universal Studios attempted to exploit Hatton's unusual features to promote him as a horror star after he played the part of the Hoxton Creeper in its sixth Sherlock Holmes film, The Pearl of Death (1944). He made a half dozen minor films playing variations of the Creeper character. Hatton died of a heart attack (a direct result of his acromegalic condition) in 1946. Wikipedia.

Alex Gross

I love this stuff. If I knew what I was doing, I'd probably be doing stuff like this.

SPOT LIGHT: Wall of Voodoo

WALL OF VOODOO
Wall of Voodoo EP (Index/IRS) 1980
Dark Continent (IRS) 1981
Call of the West (IRS) 1982
Granma's House (IRS) 1984
Seven Days in Sammystown (IRS) 1985
Happy Planet (IRS) 1987
The Ugly Americans in Australia* (IRS) 1988

Los Angeles' Wall of Voodoo made junk music that can be extremely entertaining as long as you don't expect too much from it (really?). Working in the same general cinematic groove as Devo, only taking their cues from Westerns and film noir rather than science fiction, Voodoo generated a stiff (though human) sound that furnished a vivid backdrop to Stanard Ridgway's semi-catatonic vocals. Poised uneasily between machine music and rock'n'roll, Wall of Voodoo embodied the conflict between old and new for the serious-minded: classy Halloween music that's scary, but pleasantly so.

The four-song debut EP (later expanded and reissued as The Index Masters) includes a wacked-out version of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire."

The band displays more polish on Dark Continent, with tunes like "Back in Flesh" and "Full of Tension" benefiting from colorfully morose guitar and keyboards.

Call of the West's execution is livelier and more articulate, but just as spooky. It contains the now-classic "Mexican Radio," which crystallizes the band's loopy approach in one memorable number (but there is much more to the LP than Mexican Radio).

Ridgway left Wall of Voodoo in 1983 for a solo career; the band decided to replace him and continue.

The 1984 compilation album, Granma's House, contains all of Voodoo's best tracks, from "Ring of Fire" to "Mexican Radio." (nothing on here that we don't already have).

Unveiling new singer Andy Prieboy and a new drummer (Joe Nanini had departed in the interim), Wall of Voodoo returned to action with Seven Days in Sammystown, their first new album in three years. Ridgway's absence forced a major rethink of the band's sound and purpose; the record is adequate, but somewhat short of character and thus uncompelling. "Far Side of Crazy" (ostensibly about John Hinckley, Jr.) and a dirgey cover of the old mining song "Dark as the Dungeon" are quite good, but the rest falls short. And Prieboy's failed attempt to mimic Ridgway (on "Big City") is a major faux pas (again, really?).
The vanishing Devo left a wide open field of informed weirdness, but a uniformly costumed Voodoo failed to make anything more of the opportunity. Happy Planet reveals an intact sense of humor left dangling by an utter lack of demented invention. The band works over the Beach Boys' "Do It Again," converting it to their idiom but adding nothing substantial which would make it worth hearing; the rest of the album likewise takes aim at assorted cultural artifacts but lacks the requisite inspired oddness to make the songs truly original.

The Ugly Americans in Australia* is a rambunctious live disc recorded in Melbourne and (here's where the asterisk comes in) Bullhead City, Arizona. Stripped of studio comforts, the quartet (plus keyboard guest) gamely confronts old material like "Far Side of Crazy," "Mexican Radio" and "Ring of Fire" and introduces several newies. (The cassette and CD add "The Grass Is Greener" and "Pretty Boy Floyd.") Trouser Press

Yello

Yello for all intent purposes is Carlos Peron. He writes the music, sometimes the lyrics, produces everything including the videos. Deiter was hardly on You Gotta Say Yes....except for his vocals.

Kissing The Pink

Sometimes you never get to see a band and when you do....sometimes you wish you hadn't. I had always pictured KTP as a somewhat dark band...and when they played live it was a pretty serious affair. I hadn't thought about them dancing around and such.
What has been seen cannot be unseen.
